BEYOND THE ORDINARY
What Makes Composite Portraits Different
Unlike traditional portrait sessions, composite portraiture allows complete creative control over environment, mood, and storytelling.
Subjects, backgrounds, textures, and atmospheric elements are photographed separately and thoughtfully combined. This approach allows for portraits that reflect ideas, emotions, or narratives that would be impossible to capture in a single session.
My prices start at free!
but it depends...
I've been a photographer for a long time. I'm excellent at all genres of photography. I'll still do normal family portraits and other types of sessions on occasion, so feel free to ask... My prices for those are pretty competitive for the area.
I really enjoy composite photography. It's challenging to me. It's not just capturing what a person looks like, it's capturing their fears, their desires, their trauma and their recovery. It's an art and art deserves to be displayed in galleries.
I have a handful of series I'm working on. If you're willing to pose for the series listed below or if you pitch me a creative idea, I'm willing to do the photoshoot for free. If I really like an image, I'm going to include it in gallery showings. If a photo I took of you sells, I will share the proceeds with you.
Series that I'm currently working on include:
- Painterly series inspired by Renaissance and Classical Art
- An abstract series that features a mixture of urban decay and nature.
- Seven deadly sins, vices, angel and demon on your shoulder.
- Stories of personal trauma and recovery
- Fantasy, futuristic, cosplay, and romance novel-based series
- Political statement inspired pieces - think handmaid's tale or something similar.

A Concept-Driven Process
Creative Planning
Every composite portrait begins with a consultation and concept development phase. This may include visual references, symbolic elements, wardrobe planning, and discussion of mood or narrative direction.

Photography Sessions

Elements are photographed intentionally — often across multiple sessions or locations — to ensure consistency in perspective, lighting, and expression.
Artistic Construction
Final images are assembled and refined through detailed post-production. Each composite is built carefully, with attention to realism, depth, and painterly detail.

No AI is Involved

At Chaotic Alchemy Creative, each composite begins with real source material: photographs, physical objects, hand-painted elements and custom textures. I build every scene with intentional light, perspective and detail. No generative AI is used to create this artwork.
Why Choose Composite Portraiture
- Creative storytelling beyond traditional portraits
- Full control over mood, environment, and symbolism
- Ideal for personal narratives, conceptual artwork, or statement pieces
- Images crafted as finished artwork rather than simple photographs

I accept a small number of carefully selected commissions, with composite art at the heart of my practice. These collaborations are for people who want to turn a personal story, an impossible idea or a vivid character into a finished piece of art.
Traditional portrait sessions are offered very sparingly, by inquiry only. Share your idea, your timeline and what draws you to my work, and we can explore whether the project is a good fit.
